What are we learning about this week? This week, we did lots of studying and review for our unit 2 test. Last Friday, we worked on Newsela and did an investigation station together in class. On Monday, we planned for our upcoming test, did a measurement lab, and an analysis for our lab. On Tuesday, we had a quiz on what we are learning and why it is important, and we got study guides for our test. On Wednesday, we turned in any late work and got assignments back, we set up our binders and got them organized, and worked on our study guides and what will be on the test. On Thursday, we checked our study guide, studied for our test, and played a review game on Kahoot. Why are we learning this? We are doing lots of review and learning new topics because it is important for all of us to get good grades on our test and so we have the knowledge about biology and labs if we ever want to become a scientist or work with certain figures. Doing lots of studying will help us prepare for tests and surprise quizzes that may come up. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? I think the most interesting thing we did this week was our study guide because it had lots of questions about the different topics that we learned and the answers that some of them had. Some of the answers we very interesting and took time. Some of the questions did involve some thinking but will prepare us for our test. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? The hardest thing we learned about this week was probably trying to study all the themes of biology. There are many themes and the definitions can get tricky. It is hard to memorize which one goes with which. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? We had one quiz on socrative that didn’t count for a grade, but it was about what we are learning and why it is important. It wasn’t hard. We have a quiz on Friday, October 19 on unit 2. It is a big grade and probably will be tricky, but we can handle it. If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? I would want to learn more about lab safety and the different tools. There are lots of different tools that we use in labs, and want to know and learn about all of them. Is there anything else you want to add? I think the review game that we do on Kahoot is a great way to study. It can be hard, but at the same time, it is really fun, and an awesome way to study. What are we learning about this week? This week we are learning how to create, organize, and conduct our own experiments. Why are we learning this? We are learning this so in the future if we need to make our own experiment, we will be prepared. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? The most interesting thing we did in class this week was the toothpick and dish soap experiment. It was cool and fun to see and I want to learn more about it. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? In my opinion, the trickiest thing we did this week was making up our own experiment. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? We did not have any quizzes or tests this week. If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? If I could pick one thing to learn more about in science class, it would be biology. I really like learning about living things and how they work, and I want to learn more. Is there anything else you want to add? I hope we can learn a lot in a fun way this year in science. What are we learning about this week? This week we are learning about microscopes and how they work. Why are we learning this? We are learning about microscopes so we know how they work and so that we know how to use them when do other labs or lessons with them. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? The most interesting thing I did in class this week was getting to use the microscopes and record what we saw. It was my favorite thing we did because it was cool to use them and see what we were looking at up close. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? The most difficult thing we did this week was getting to use the microscopes. It was a little difficult to do because it was our first time getting to use them and learning how they work. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it?
If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? If I could pick anything to learn about in science it would be about space and the universe. I would like to learn about the universe because I find the idea of the universe going forever really cool and I really love stars and the meanings people have behind them. Is there anything else you want to add? No. This week's blogger: A.V.
What are we learning about this week? We are learning biology and lab safety. Why are we learning this? We are learning this so when we do labs no one will get hurt because they are messing around. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? The most interesting thing I did was play Kahoot! It was interesting because it fun to play and a great way to learn. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? The hardest thing this week that we did was the biology mini quiz. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? We took the biology mini quiz. It was a little confusing. If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? I want to learn about gravity. The reason I want to learn about the gravity because it is interesting and involves a lot of math and equations and formulas. Is there anything else you want to add? No, there is nothing else I want to add. This week's blogger: C.C.
What are we learning about this week? We are learning about the science of Biology. Why are we learning this? We are learning this to become more aware of the characteristics of a living thing and how life can be studied. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? We learned that there are over 10 main themes of biology. This was interesting because that means that there are many other themes which would be fun to learn. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? This week wasn’t very hard, but for some kids it would be hard to memorize which theme goes to which. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? Yes, we had a unit test and a quiz about the ten themes. They were both fairly simple and i think that has something to do with the way we are being taught with the INBs. If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? It would be more biology! There are so many themes that we could learn and if they were anything like the ones we learned, I would gladly learn more. Is there anything else you want to add? What are we learning about this week? We are learning about the Scientific Method. Why are we learning this? We are learning this so we can be able to use the Scientific Method in later experiments. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? The most interesting thing we learning in class was the first interactive notebook page. I think it was interesting because it was the first one we did, and was easier than many students thought. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? This week we did not do anything very hard, but I would say that the first interactive notebook page would be, because some students thought it was confusing to understand but then knew how to do it in the end. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? We had a mini quiz which was on the Scientific Method. It had us match each word to the definition and number of the step. If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? I would want to more about density. We learned a little about density this week, and I would like to learn a little more about that. I want to because we learned it last year, and I would just like to learn about it. What are we learning about this week? We learned more about the eclipse that happened on the 21st of August. Why are we learning this? We are learning about this because it's science also the eclipse has so much to learn about, like the penumbra and umbra and the diameter of the earth, sun, and moon. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? The most interesting thing i learned about in science this week was about the diameters of the sun, moon, and Earth because we got to actually change them on an eclipse simulator. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? The hardest thing for me was learning on how to work the eclipse simulator. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? No we did not have any quizzes If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? I would like to learn more about forensic science because I love learning about cases and all the gory gross stuff. Is there anything else you want to add? No there is not This Week's Blogger: I.B.
What are we learning about this week? We are learning about the eclipse and class procedures this week. We also learned about the curriculum that we will study this year. Why are we learning this? We are learning these things because the eclipse is rare and important. We learned the curriculum and procedures so we know what to expect this year. What was the most interesting thing you learned or did in class this week? Why? I think we can all agree that the eclipse was by far the coolest. It is a rare occurrence and the pictures were spectacular. What was the hardest/trickiest thing we learned about or did this week? We didn’t learn anything very challenging other than learning about the eclipse. Did we have any quizzes or tests this week? If we did, which was it, and what was it on? How was it? None If you could pick anything in science to learn more about, what would it be and why? I would choose tornadoes and what it takes for one to erupt. Is there anything else you want to add? Not really, other than the fact that it was an inconvenience to not have Science during totality. |
